Medical Detox:
Prescription Drug Detox & Treatment

Prescription Drug Detox and Rehab

The U.S. consumes more prescription drugs per person every year than any other country, spending an average of $963 a year per capita. So it’s not a surprise that prescription drug addiction is a major problem in Missouri and the rest of the country.

The good news is that a prescription drug detox, followed by high-quality inpatient addiction treatment can change your life. Addiction to prescription drugs like Percocet, Xanax or Adderall is a challenging problem to solve—but not an impossible one.

The first thing to do is to safely and gently step down off of your medications in a supervised clinical environment like the inpatient medical detox at Clear Path Recovery Center.

Quitting ‘Cold Turkey’ Doesn’t Work and It Can Be Dangerous

Quitting cold turkey simply doesn’t work—and it can be dangerous. Some people imagine that white-knuckling through withdrawal without medication proves their strength. In reality, this approach undermines long-term sobriety and can even be deadly with certain prescriptions.

Whether you’re frustrated by dependence, disappointed in yourself, or determined to show you’re stronger than the drugs, please don’t make the mistake of trying the ‘cold turkey’ method or detoxing yourself at home. It’s never a good idea.

Even if you’re not sure if you’re ready for Rx drug detox, why not give us a call at (417) 448-6488 and hear what we have to offer? You’ve got nothing to lose and lots to gain.

Why Go to Rehab After Your Prescription Drug Detox?

When you’re facing prescription drug dependence—whether with painkillers, Xanax, or Adderall—you’re actually up against two interlinked issues: physical dependence and psychological addiction. Medically supervised detox tackles the physical dependence, gently restoring your body’s balance.
But curing dependence is only the beginning. Overcoming the mental and emotional grip of prescription drug addiction takes residential treatment and time to rebuild healthy habits, coping skills, and a fulfilling, drug-free life

Prescription Drug Dependence

Consistent use of painkillers, Xanax, or Adderall rewires your body and brain chemistry. Abruptly stopping triggers withdrawal symptoms—muscle aches, nausea, sweating, anxiety, insomnia, and intense cravings. Benzo withdrawal can be dangerous, even deadly. You should never stop taking a benzodiazepine without medical advice and support.

Prescription Drug Addiction

Addiction to prescription medications doesn’t only affect your body—it also hijacks your brain’s reward system and occupies your thoughts, routines, and priorities. Persistent cravings and the fear of withdrawal dominate your mind, making it virtually impossible to break free on willpower alone. This is what prescription drug rehab after detox is designed to help you with.

What Is Inpatient Treatment for Prescription Drug Addiction Like?

Clear Path Recovery Center offers an inpatient program for prescription drug addiction that does far more than help you stop using painkillers, Xanax, or Adderall. We lead you through a variety of evidence-based therapies designed to uncover why those medications became a crutch, pinpoint your personal triggers, and teach healthier ways to manage pain, stress, and emotional lows without relying on substances.

As a dual-diagnosis treatment center, we also address the mental health conditions that often accompany prescription drug misuse—anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. Skipping over these deeper issues means missing a critical piece of lasting recovery. When underlying challenges are diagnosed and treated alongside addiction, you gain the insight and skills needed for true, long-term healing.

Why going to rehab after detox is the smart choice:

  • Prescription drug detox cannot resolve the emotional patterns behind use
  • Treating mental health alongside addiction reduces cravings and relapse risk
  • Residential treatment brings structure, coping skills, and relapse prevention planning
  • A complete treatment plan substantially improves the odds of successful recovery

How Does Prescription Drug Detox Work?
Where Do I Start?

Regular misuse of prescription drugs like Xanax, Adderall or painkillers throws your body chemistry out of balance. When you abruptly stop or cut back, your system struggles to regain equilibrium. That’s where withdrawal symptoms come from. These can range from muscle aches and intense cravings (painkillers) to anxiety and insomnia (Xanax) or extreme fatigue and mood swings (Adderall).

At Clear Path Recovery Center, our Missouri prescription drug detox program provides 24/7 medical supervision and individualized care from day one. We begin with a confidential phone screening and intake evaluation to design a safe, tailored detox and treatment plan.

Once you’re admitted, our experienced detox nursing team monitors your vitals and manages withdrawal through targeted medications, supportive therapies, proper hydration, and nutrition. Our modern protocols restore balance to your body and mind, setting the stage for a successful recovery. There’s no better way to create the change you want than that!

Detox and Rehab Admissions FAQs

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we are asked about our admissions process or policies.

Our discounted self-pay rate for detox is $_____ per day. The length of stay in our detox program will vary from patient to patient and substance to substance. There are many variables, so we cannot guarantee you a detox will be complete within “X” number of days and your total cost will be “Y”.

Please give us a call at (000) 000-0000 if you have any further questions about self-paying for detox or rehab at Clear Path.

Just about any drug of abuse you can think of. There are too many to list here, but they include: alcohol, opioids (oxycodone, hydrocodone), opiates (morphine, heroin), benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin), sleep aids (Ambien, Lunesta), crystal meth, cocaine, flakka, spice/K2, NBOMe (N-bombs), Xylazine,

It is important for prospective Clear Path patients and family members to follow our admissions procedure. This helps us maintain a peaceful therapeutic environment and protect patient privacy.

Before anyone can be admitted to Clear Path Recovery Center, they must:

  1. Have insurance verification and approval (or self-pay)
  2. Have completed a pre-admit phone screening with us.
  3. Have been approved for admission by our Clinical Director

For the safety of patients and staff and legal compliance there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

The simplest, safest way to admit to Clear Path detox this is to call us first so we can put the wheels in motion for you. If you have a medical emergency, i.e. someone is seizing, overdosing or unresponsive—-CALL 911 immediately.

For patient safety and security, Clear Path must ask that you leave workout supplements, herbal supplements, vitamins and over the counter medication at home. These substances often have ingredients that can interact with medications we may prescribe.

We must also be aware that others may have allergies. We have over the counter medications here for your use, if there’s anything of that nature you require and it’s within your treatment protocol, we will see that you get it.

Remember the reason you or your loved one is here is for medical treatment and help. Every policy we have was put in place with your best interests in mind. We recommend bringing simple, comfortable clothing that’s easy to wash and wear. Revealing clothing is inappropriate and may make others uncomfortable. Leaving jewelry and excess cosmetics at home helps keep things simple and avoid any potential loss, theft or misunderstandings.
