A medical detox from opioids is the first place to begin if you or someone you love wants to leave painkillers, heroin or any other opioid behind. Fear of withdrawal often keeps people from seeking help for opioid addiction. In fact, it’s probably the single biggest obstacle.
Clear Path Recovery’s opioid detox program directly addresses the fear of withdrawal using modern medical protocols that protect your health and comfort. No one should suffer through detox or feel pressured to quit cold turkey—it doesn’t improve your chances of staying drug-free, in fact research shows, it actually hurts them.
We believe in giving every person we treat the best odds possible of overcoming their opioid addiction. That starts with our top-tier opioid detox program in Missouri.

Opioid withdrawal isn’t usually life-threatening, but it can be intensely uncomfortable and emotionally draining without proper medical support. When someone stops using opioids abruptly, their body reacts to the sudden absence of the drug it’s grown dependent on—leading to a range of physical and psychological symptoms.
A medical detox at a facility like Clear Path Recovery Center offers a safer, more manageable way to begin recovery. With 24-hour care and targeted medications, we help ease the stress of withdrawal and support your body’s return to balance.
If you or someone you’re with is showing signs of an opioid overdose—such as slowed or stopped breathing, blue lips or fingertips, or unconsciousness—call 9-1-1 immediately. This is a medical emergency. If you have access to NARCAN (naloxone), use it as directed while waiting for help to arrive. Acting quickly can save a life.
When someone struggles with opioid use disorder, they’re actually facing two interconnected challenges: physical dependence and psychological addiction.
That’s why medical detox is only the first step. Rehab provides the structure, therapy, and healthy coping tools you need to build toward lasting recovery.
A medical detox is the first stop in treating opioid addiction. Our inpatient opioid detox helps alleviate withdrawal symptoms while you rest and recover. But, remember: the opioid detox can only help solve one part of the problem—physical dependence.
If someone was addicted to opioids when they came to our detox, the mental and emotional grip of addiction doesn’t disappear just because they’re safely past opioid withdrawal. That’s why residential treatment is so important.
It’s where we begin processing the psychological side of addiction. In opioid rehab, you learn to understand addiction and triggers. More than that, you learn to change your thinking and thereby your behavior—-and that’s where lasting recovery begins.
Residential opioid rehab is where we work on the mental and emotional side of addiction. Once opioids are out of the body and withdrawal has passed, patients are finally able to begin working through the psychological patterns and cravings that fuel opioid use.
This phase is essential to staying sober and drug-free after detox. Recovery isn’t easy. But if you want the best shot possible, lean into the process, accept support, and follow recommendations. The more help you accept, the stronger your recovery will be.
At Clear Path Recovery Center, our residential opioid treatment program is built to do more than just help you stop using. We guide patients through a wide range of therapeutic approaches designed to uncover why opioid use began, identify personal triggers, and build healthier ways of coping with pain, stress, and emotional lows, without relying on substances.
That’s only part of the equation. We’re also a dual-diagnosis facility, which means we treat the mental health challenges that often go hand-in-hand with opioid addiction, like anxiety, depression, and trauma. Recovery that ignores these deeper layers misses the mark. Long-term success is much more likely when underlying issues are diagnosed and addressed alongside addiction.
Why choosing opioid rehab after detox matters:
When someone uses opioids regularly, their body adapts to the constant presence of the drug and its pain-relieving and calming effects. If they suddenly stop or drastically reduce their use, the body struggles to regain balance—leading to physical withdrawal symptoms like muscle pain, sweating, anxiety, and more.
Clear Path Recovery’s Missouri opioid detox program provides the safety of 24-hour medical care during this vulnerable stage. Our team closely monitors each patient and uses targeted medications to relieve discomfort and ease withdrawal. We work to restore your body’s stability while keeping you safe, supported, and as comfortable as possible.

For patient safety and security, Clear Path must ask that you leave workout supplements, herbal supplements, vitamins and over the counter medication at home. These substances often have ingredients that can interact with medications we may prescribe.
We must also be aware that others may have allergies. We have over the counter medications here for your use, if there’s anything of that nature you require and it’s within your treatment protocol, we will see that you get it.
