Welcome to Clear Path Recovery Center Detox

Clear Path Recovery Center is one of Missouri’s most comprehensive addiction treatment programs. Substance use treatment here begins with our safety and comfort-focused medical detox. However, you will find a complete spectrum of help and support with us, including residential drug and alcohol treatment and aftercare planning.

Frequently Asked Questions About Medical Detox

We understand that taking the first step toward detox is urgent and emotional. However, for the safety and health of all patients, Clear Path Recovery Center does not accept walk-in admissions.

Every admission begins with a confidential pre-screening call. This helps ensure our program is clinically appropriate for you, allows us to verify insurance or discuss payment options, and prepares our team to welcome you with the care you deserve.

No exceptions can be made. In case of an emergency such as an overdose, please call 911 immediately. We deeply appreciate your understanding and compliance—it helps us maintain a safe, supportive healing environment for everyone.

If you’re experiencing withdrawal symptoms, using substances daily, or feel physically unwell when trying to stop, medical detox may be necessary. You should never try to quit alcohol or drugs ‘cold turkey’. Common signs include shakiness, sweating, nausea, anxiety, or disrupted sleep.

If you’re not sure, our team can help assess your situation through a private phone consultation. Better safe than sorry!

Ideally you should come to detox before you’re in withdrawal if you can. Withdrawal from some substances (alcohol, benzos, barbiturates) can be especially dangerous.

This is heartbreaking but common. Compassionate confrontation, known as a family-led intervention, can be helpful—and sometimes necessary. You might consider enlisting the support of a professional interventionist to guide this process. You’re not alone, and we’re here to provide resources that support both your loved one and your family.

We offer medically supervised detox for alcohol, opioids (including fentanyl and heroin), benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Ativan), stimulants (such as cocaine and meth), and other substances depending on individual needs. Detox can be complex. Let us help determine the safest path forward for you.

Detox at Clear Path includes 24/7 medical monitoring, comfort-focused withdrawal management, and emotional support. We prioritize your safety while helping your body begin recovery. Once stabilized, you’ll have the option to transition into a personalized treatment plan designed just for you.

Detox time varies greatly depending on the substances used, quantity, length of use and the patient’s age and health, as well as other factors. But, medical detox usually takes at least 4 days at minimum and can take as long as 14 days or more in some cases.

Every experience is different, and our clinical team will keep you informed and supported every step of the way. Note that certain situations, such as long-term benzo use or high doses of methadone can necessitate longer than usual medical detox periods.
